How to format a write protected (by a possible virus) flash drive

So I was having some problems with one of my my flash drive which I lent to a friend recently and after testing and scanning it with CheckFlash I found out there were almost 900 errors on my 2gb Kingston flash drive and I was like WTF. Next step for me was calling my friend and yelling but he obviously had no idea of what went wrong with the drive but soon after my antivirus program was telling me that some virus from the USB flash drive is trying to do do nasty things on my computer.

This virus has actually made my flash drive un-writable i.e. write protected and I was not able to even format the drive. I tested quite a few antivirus programs which are specifically designed for USB drives and to no avail. Finally I found this tiny little exe file Called USB Repair from company named Apacer and I was able to format clean my flash drive in seconds.

This is such a wonderful utility and I am sure most of the people who are experiencing problems in dealing with their corrupted or virus infected USB drives should find this very very useful.

    hey, the method did not work for me at all. My flash is write protected by a virus as well. when i use USB repair it keeps saying “USB disk not found” through it is connected and visible in my Computer. I don’t know what to do.
