For geeks like me (really…?) upgrading to a new version of Windows was never a problem since we tend to upgrade our hardware on a regular basis in order to either have an over all speedy and smooth system, keep up with the current software or to play latest games and yes the machines which are optimized for gaming are usually powerful enough to handle any operating system upgrade thrown at them.
This happened to me when I upgraded from XP to Vista and while there were quite a few user all around the world complaining how bad Vista is in performance I was actually enjoying the new interface and the over all operating experience. Same is the case with Windows 7, and although as many tests have shown great results of how Windows 7 is less resource hungry than Windows Vista, there should be many users out there who still use XP on their 4 year old machines and who should be concerned about hardware compatibility if they are planning to upgrade to Windows 7. For those, Microsoft comes forward with a simple tool to analyze one’s system called Windows 7 upgrade advisor beta.
Run the tool and it will pretty much tell you everything about where you need an upgrade in your computer hardware to run Windows 7 smoothly.
