So I upgraded my mobile phone to Nokia 5800 Xpress music from a 5320 express music and as I was so much enjoying the enhanced huge touch screen operating system i.e. Symbian S60 V5 over the previous Symbian S60 V3, my search for a better twitter client for Symbian phones was not ended.
On Nokia 5320 I was accessing m.slandr.net to use twitter but it is actually not a twitter client, instead it is only an interface designed to access basic twitter within the mobile internet browser and when after upgrading to Nokia 5800 Xpress music I was so desperately looking for a full fledged twitter application for my phone, I found Gravity from a German software firm called Mobileways.
Gravity is available for both Symbian S60 V3 (Nokia N series etc) and Symbian S60 V5 (Nokia 5800 and N97 etc) but the real enjoyment and fun is when you use it on V5 handsets which boast touch screen functionality and browsing through your twitter timeline and reading and sending replies and direct messages is a breeze.
Gravity lets you tweet, reply, DM, follow & unfollow, create favourites, search, auto-update and do much more. You can view your Timeline, Replies, Messages, Friends in different tabs. The main screen of Gravity shows an overview of recent tweets from your friends, pictures on your device which can eventually be shared on twitter via TwitPic.
While browsing your twitter timeline, you can easily activate a hidden sub menu of any tweet which lets you access the basic commands of handling a tweet like reply, DM etc and most importantly the option to open the link which was shared in that tweet. The beautiful thing about viewing your twitter timeline in Gravity is that you can scroll through the tweets with the slide of your finger on the screen just like you would scroll through the contact or any other list in iPhone.
Last but not the least Gravity has a built in Twitter search section with multiple search tabs and Twitter Trends and I am sure this feature is not found in any other mobile twitter client out there.
Now let’s come to the bad part, right. Gravity is not a free application and cost around $10.00 (Approximately 900 PKR) but I am most frankly ready to pay this price since I am getting such a wonderful piece of software which I have been looking out for so long. Currently I am running this in trial mode which will let me use it for around 10 days but I will ultimately get the full paid version before my trial ends.
For now please look at this video (not made by me) to see how fluently Gravity works and how great it is.

I’ve downloaded Gravity and installed it twice now on my 71!. Both times it stopped my phone from downloading emails and after removing the app it took Nokia email some time to start receiving my emails again.
I’ve given it a try but I would not recommend it to anyone unless you are prepared to lose the email functionality of your phone. `Currently waiting to download the email backlog from my last installation. Until that bug is fixed the app is practically useless.
You may also want to try the free @SociallyApp (http://bit.ly/6mFra0) on Nokia 5800 phones. It supports Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and integrates with the phone book by showing the profile photos and latest status of the callers during incoming calls.
